Services & Charges
I offer a FREE consultation to talk about my service further, to answer any questions and to see if you think you would like me to be your Doula. It is so important that you feel relaxed with your chosen Doula.
As a recognised Doula I offer the following professional services:
Antenatal period – Once you have booked me to be your Doula I am a companion for you and your partner throughout your pregnancy.
Within this time we will usually have two more formal visits, although I am very flexible. It is in these sessions that I will take time to get to know your expectations and emotions. Partners are encouraged to be part of them as my role is to support and encourage them too. The sessions will include sharing about previous pregnancies and births experiences, birth physiology, birth preferences and any other topics that you want to discuss. These meetings normally last two hours and can be at your home, a neutral location or at my home.
Open communication - Once you have booked me I am available by email and phone. I am here for you as much as you need - to help find out information, to meet your midwife/consultant or you if you ever want to talk over your concerns or joys.
On call – I will be on call for you 24 hours, 7 days a week from weeks 38-42 of your pregnancy. When your labour begins I will be available by phone until you feel you want me to join you.
Constant presence during labour and delivery - I will be there for you practically and emotionally from the moment you call me. I like to stay for a few hours after delivery to help you settle and get comfortable.
Post natal visits - usually two visits although I am happy to come again if asked. This is to help with feeding and to reflect on the birth.
Cost: £1,500 for full package
For those wishing not to hire a birth doula I do offer birth preparation sessions to empower, inform and encourage you.
Cost: £350 plus mileage
Post natal Doula
My services include practical and emotional support in the home for the mother and family. My aim is to encourage bonding with the baby and to enable the family to cope with this life changing season. I am very flexible with what I can do and look to the mum to share what is helpful for her.
Tasks may include; help with breastfeeding, helping and playing with other siblings, doing light shopping, tidying, washing, ironing, cooking, looking after the baby so mum can have a bath or sleep.
I desire to affirm the mum, to encourage her to trust her own instincts and be relaxed.
Cost: £22 an hour plus mileage
Early Days support
The early days can be daunting. I can be on call for the first 3 days after the birth. You can contact me on the phone and I can visit you to help you with feeding, bathing the baby and generally being another pair of hands. I am available to stay overnight if you would find this helpful.
As a member of Doula Uk I have support women through their access fund. This has been setup to enable all women, regardless of income, the chance of having a Doula. More details can be found on the Doula UK website.
